We’re settling comfortably into Autumn and looking forward to the indulgent event of the season: Cupcake Camp! Since our white chocolate lemon curd cupcakes were a huge hit last year, people have asked us what we will be serving up this year. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to make this 3rd edition of the charity event so we’re relying on YOU, fellow dessert lovers, to contribute 24 cupcakes alongside other amateur/professional bakers and attend with a ready belly.
You can feel good about indulging in dozens of cookies since all profits go to the Make a Wish Foundation. Cat Beurnier, owner of Sugar Daze (her cupcakes in the photo above) and co-organizer Bryan Pirolli are aiming to raise even more than last year so your help is needed! If you’re more of a cupcake lover than baker, be sure to participate (and eat!) on Saturday, October 27th from 15h-17th. RSVP here!
Address:
Le Comptoir Général, 80 Quai de Jemmapes, 75010 (métro: République/Jacques Bonsergent).

With powerful pecan crunch, rich caramel flavor and luscious dark chocolate, these Turtle Bars are the perfect substitute for a thick brownie or chewy cookie. Each layer – from the buttery sablé crust to the chocolate-caramel topping – stands out on its own for a sweet fix that will leave you rushing back for seconds and thirds.
The perfect option for those of you who like a treat with crunch and those who don’t want an all-chocolate bar for dessert.
If there is anything frustrating about baking in Paris, aside from ensuring we can get our hands on the right ingredients for our recipes, it is the cost and selection of accessories available. There are a handful of stores within the center of the city that offer high quality baking equipment and imported accessories but prices are steep and the selection extremely limited.
Fortunately, January marked the arrival of a new shop in town and owner Paul Waters fresh from the UK (with a stopover in Grenoble, if we’re getting into specifics). CAKE & BAKE features an arsenal of goods, ranging from cupcake liners and sprinkles to pastry boxes and molds, for bakers of all levels. Paul imports a variety of Wilton products from the U.S. in addition to a number of the UK brands he grew up with using in his baking.
The space on rue de Lancry in the 10th arrondissement might be teeny tiny but it’s brimming with fantastic, affordable products, an ultry-trendy look and feel, and one very happy baking fanatic behind the counter ready to guide you.
Here’s a fun video tour of the space, you’ll all love it!
Given how much we’re throwing around flour, sugar and chocolate in the kitchen, protecting our clothing is imperative. But we want something playful and stylish. Fortunately, we recently came across the French online boutique Madame Choup, specialized in fun, colorful aprons. Now we all can get down to serious baking business and sport fun, kitsch, themed tabliers! {Maybe she’ll make us a Lola’s Cookies version?!}
Flowers, chocolates, candy and cards… the typical Valentine’s Day gift options. Want to offer your friends, colleagues, and loved ones something you can almost guarantee no one else will be gifting? Look no further than a box of our treats! Here are a few options:
New to the menu: chocolate-dipped sugar cookies and for Valentine’s Day, you can request them in the shape of a heart! To order, click HERE.
Always a crowd pleaser: the Lola Cookie. Versatile in shape, this classic sugar cookie is big on flavor with our signature buttercream frosting (available in additional colors). To order, click HERE.
Boxes of chocolates are the safe choice – predictable and uninspired. But opt for authentic American brownies, with their flaky shells and gooey centers, and you’re sure to win the hearts (….smiles and bellies!) of friends and family. Order these bad boys HERE.
A bit of crunch and a soft interior make theses Double Chocolate Cookies a must-have for any chocolate lover, big or small. Mini sizes available (for all our cookies too!) for quick bites all throughout Valentine’s Day! Get your fix HERE.
Get your orders in by Thursday, Feb. 9th for delivery on the 13th or 14th!
