All that anticipation and excitement. It builds and it mounts and before you know it, THE day you’ve been planning for arrives. The 2nd annual Paris Cupcake Camp took place this afternoon at Le Comptoir Général in the hip Canal St. Martin neighborhood and was a much bigger success than anyone could have hoped. Approximately 480 people waited in line to get a chance to scope out, photograph, purchase and eat some of Paris’ most sought-after amateur and professional cupcakes – all 2,000 of them – to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
Given that we specialize in cookies, we knew we would have to make a cupcake that would relate to our product offering and really give guests a clear idea of who we were. We knew we would have to choose a flavor from our menu that would appeal as much to French the gourmandes as the anglophone bunch who were to be in attendance. We got our yellow and white striped (à la Lola’s) cupcake liners ready, fired up the oven and produced what WE think was an awesome cupcake!

We made White Chocolate Lemon Cookie Cupcakes which featured mini sizes of our White Chocolate Lemon Cashew cookie on top of a light layer of white chocolate buttercream frosting. The surprise, however, lay just underneath the icing. A subtle layer of lemon curd enhanced the flavor perfectly. Within an hour and 15 minutes, our cupcakes were GONE. They were flying off the trays like hot cakes and we were overjoyed. Our first cookie-cupcake success!
We were also REALLY impressed with the other cupcakes at the event. Here are a few favorites:
So original! Crème de marrons cupcakes served in none other than a crème de marrons can! Loved this!
We expected nothing but the best from our friend Alisa of Sweet Pea Baking - her cupcakes had that gorgeous icing mound that we adore!
A beautiful selection of cupcakes from the Paris cupcake queen herself, Sugar Daze! Bravo to Cat for not only organizing Cupcake Camp but producing stellar treats.
Gorgeous Paris-themed cupcakes from Prêt à Rever
And many, many more…..
The crowd was happy….
And so we were! Can’t wait until next year but until then, you can find us in the kitchen baking Paris’ best cookies and brownies!

Ok, you guys win for fastest post! By our estimation, we welcomed about 480 people, sold over 2500 cupcakes and raised close to 6000 euros! We were thrilled with the turnout — the cupcakes were so beautiful as everyone can see in these great pictures — and are delighted that we collectively raised so much money for Make A Wish France. My only regret of the day is not having had the chance to sample one of those beautiful Lola’s Cookies cucpakes! Thanks for coming and supporting Cupcake Camp Paris 2!
Oh wow, 480 people!! I’ll amend that in the post! Seriously, amazing job, so proud of you, Bryan and Nicolette! What a brilliant turnout, we had an amazing day!
